Built-in sofa

This built-in bench runs the entire width of the townhouse in Manhattan.  It uses antique file cabinet drawers for storage.

The file cabinet drawers were stripped and sealed and had all new drawer slides installed so they worked like new.  There were existing radiators at the windows, so the sofa was also designed to allow air to flow under and up the back at the windows.
